Bayeux Cathedral

Some snaps of Cathedrale Notre Dame du Bayeux, an impressive church by any measure. Note the flying buttresses in pics 2 and 4. Begun in the 11th century on foundations far older, the building exhibits a mixed Gothic and Romanesque architecture, with major additions having taken place in the 17th and 19th centuries. It is in excellent condition, as Bayeux was liberated on the second day of the Normandy invasion, and thus spared any major war damage.
