Our day began with a visit to the American Cemetary at Omaha Beach. The day was overcast with considerable fog, hence the gray tone to all the photos.
The visitor's center is impressive, the best we've seen. The exhibits covered the entire D-Day operation, highlighting the actions of many individual soldiers.
As you know, the cost was high. The cemetery is a very solemn place. Many of the markers are anonymous.
